Sprayed Radical Rose on my wrist at 8am. By 10pm my friend asked what perfume I was wearing. That’s not normal for a rose — they usually evaporate into expensive dust by lunch.
The trick isn’t more sprays. It’s where you put them. Pulse points are obvious. Layering them in a specific order? That’s the cheat code.
A extrait de parfum from Matiere Premiere. $240 for 50ml. Their claim: one of the highest concentrations of Centifolia rose absolute in any perfume. I called bullshit until I smelled it.
Radical extraction
They use the whole rose — petals, stem, leaf. Smells green, not grandma.
No filler notes
No vanilla to smooth it out. No patchouli to ground it. Just rose and pink pepper.
It’s loud
Three sprays max. I did five once. Regretted it in an elevator.

This is not a shy rose. It’s got bite. The pepper hits first — sharp, almost spicy — then the rose blooms like it’s pissed off you doubted it. The dry down is pure Centifolia absolute. Sticky. Dark. Slightly honeyed.
- Centifolia Rose Absolute: The star — takes up 25% of the formula
- Pink Berry CO2 Extract: Adds that lipstick-powder texture
- Pink Pepper: Gives it a fizzy, alive opening
- Ambrette Seed: Keeps it from going soapy

Sprays on wet and almost oily. Takes about 15 seconds to dry — not instant, which is good. Gives you time to spread it. First sniff is straight pepper. Then the rose floods in. It’s like sticking your face into a rose bush after rain. Thorns included.
Week two I realized I was over-spraying. This stuff clings. One spray behind each ear, one on your sternum, and you’re set. Any more and you’ll smell like a florist having a breakdown.

Lasted 10 hours on skin. 14 on clothes. No reformulation panic — it smells the same from first spray to last drop. The sillage is real but not rude. People will ask what you’re wearing. Strangers. In line at the grocery store.

The best rose I’ve smelled in five years. Not because it’s pretty — because it’s mean. Buy the travel size first. You’ll know in one spray if it’s you.
