PHA is just lazy exfoliation for people who ruined their skin with acids. But this Some By Mi cream actually delivers both — exfoliation *and* a barrier fix.
Most “gentle” moisturizers do nothing. This one actually removes dead skin while you sleep — without the sting.
$22 for 60ml. They claim it hydrates *and* resurfaces using polyhydroxy acids (PHA). I called bullshit until I tried it.
PHA 3D Complex
Gluconolactone + lactobionic acid — the laziest acids that still work
Ceramide NP
Actually repairs the lipid layer, not just coats it
Panthenol
Calms irritation before the acids even start working

Spoiler: the PHA concentration is low enough that it won’t peel you. But the ceramide + panthenol duo does the heavy lifting for barrier repair. The real surprise? Centella asiatica extract — usually an afterthought — is high enough on the list to matter.
- Gluconolactone (PHA): exfoliates without burning your face off
- Lactobionic Acid: humectant that also exfoliates — rare combo
- Ceramide NP: the actual barrier builder
- Centella Asiatica: calms redness better than expected

Thick cream that absorbs in 12 seconds — no joke. Smells like nothing. Leaves a soft matte finish that surprised me. Not sticky at all.
Week 2: my usual winter flakes were gone. Week 3: texture around my nose actually felt smoother. Unexpected downside — it pills under sunscreen if you don’t wait 3 minutes.

Texture improved by ~30%. Redness reduced noticeably. But it won’t fix deep wrinkles or acne scars — don’t expect a miracle.
It’s a solid everyday moisturizer that actually does two jobs without drama. Not revolutionary — but reliable.
