Farmacy just reformulated their cult-favorite Honey Halo. And I’ve been using the new version for three weeks straight on my dry, winter-beaten face.
They swapped out the propolis extract — the stuff that made the original so uniquely soothing. The new version leans heavier on ceramides and squalane. It’s not the same jar. But here’s the thing: I actually might like it more.
This is a rich, occlusive moisturizer designed for dry and dehydrated skin. $48 for 1.7 oz. The brand claims 24-hour hydration and barrier repair.
No More Propolis
Gone. Replaced with a triple-ceramide complex. Less sticky, more barrier-focused.
Same Honey Base
Buckwheat honey is still here — that thick, golden antioxidant punch.
Smoother Finish
The old version sat on my skin like a film. This one actually sinks in.

The new formula is less about bee-derived buzzwords and more about clinical barrier repair. It’s surprisingly lightweight for how rich it feels.
- Ceramides NP/AP/EOP: Plugs gaps in your skin barrier — less water loss by morning
- Buckwheat Honey: Humectant that pulls moisture in without feeling tacky
- Squalane: Lightweight oil that mimics your skin’s natural sebum
- Glycerin: The workhorse humectant — keeps hydration locked for hours

It comes out like a thick, slightly whipped balm. Warm it between your fingers — it melts into this silky oil that glides on. Absorbs in about 15 seconds. No white cast. No grease slick.
Week two, I noticed my forehead felt softer in the morning. But the real surprise? My T-zone didn’t turn into a slip-and-slide. This works for combo-dry people too.

My flakes disappeared by day four. My skin looks plump, not greasy. The old formula gave me occasional tiny clogged pores — this one hasn’t. But if you loved the original’s propolis tingle, you’ll miss it.

The reformulation actually fixed my biggest gripe with the original. It’s more elegant, less sticky, and still deeply hydrating. I’d rebuy — and I’m picky.
