Is Clinique Moisture Surge Reformulation Better or Worse?

You remember the old Clinique Moisture Surge? That bouncy, pink, water-gel that felt like a glass of water for your face? Yeah, they swapped the formula. And the new texture has people fighting in the comments.

This isn’t a “tweak.” They pulled the sodium hyaluronate and swapped in a different humectant complex. The vibe is different — less jelly, more watery-serum.

It’s $54 for 1.7 oz. The claim is “100 hours of hydration” — which is wild because no one tests that, but the pump bottle is way better than the old jar.

The old formula leaned on sodium hyaluronate. The new one uses a multi-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid complex plus a patented “auto-replenishing” lipid. Sounds fancy. Feels… lighter.

• Hyaluronic Acid Complex: Draws water in, but evaporates faster than the old one if you skip moisturizer on top
• Aloe Bio-ferment: Soothing, but gives it that slippery, almost-slimy feel on wet skin
