I don’t care what the packaging says—if you’re slapping this on at night, you’re wasting $40. The Plodica Re:wake Essence is a morning product, full stop.
I learned this the hard way after two weeks of meh results. Switched to AM only, and my skin literally woke up. The difference is the caffeine complex, but more on that below.
Plodica calls this a “re:wake” essence—it’s a watery serum meant to slap your face into alertness. It costs about $38 for 150ml, which is honestly fair for K-beauty. The claim that got me: “de-puffs and brightens in 7 days.” I called bullshit. I was half right.
Caffeine + B3 Complex
It’s like espresso for your face—constricts blood vessels, kills morning puffiness in 20 minutes flat.
Hyaluronic Acid Base
The texture is watery enough to drink, but it leaves a tacky film for exactly 4 seconds before vanishing.
Fermented Yeast Extract
This is the sneaky one—it’s doing the brightening work, not the caffeine. Took me 3 weeks to realize.

Here’s where it gets interesting. The hero is a 5% caffeine complex—way higher than most eye creams. But the real MVP is the fermented yeast, which is basically skincare’s version of a cheat code for dullness.
- Caffeine (5%): Zaps morning puffiness and redness
- Niacinamide (B3): Fades dark spots and controls oil
- Fermented Yeast: Speeds up cell turnover for that lit-from-within look
- Hyaluronic Acid: Plumps fine lines without heaviness

It pours like water, smells like citrus and ambition—no artificial fragrance, just a clean zing. It absorbs in about 10 seconds, which is faster than my patience for waiting between steps.
Week 2: I woke up with a zit. Panicked. Kept using it. The zit died faster than usual, and the red mark faded in 3 days. That never happens. I’m now a believer, but I’m also mad it took me this long to figure out the timing.

Measurable changes: morning puffiness down 70%, dark spots visibly lighter at week 4, and my makeup sits better because my skin’s not oily by noon. What stayed the same: my pores. They’re still visible. This isn’t a pore eraser—don’t ask it to be.

This is the only essence I’ve repurchased without hesitation. Just remember: AM, not PM. Your night cream handles the sleeping, this handles the waking up.
