I bought this on a whim because my CVS receipt literally coughed up a coupon and I was out of my usual morning wash. It sat next to the CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser on the shelf, and I thought, “Yeah right, Walmart.”
Then I used it. And I texted my derm friend a photo of the bottle with a bunch of question marks because it feels *exactly* like the $15 stuff. The texture, the slip, the lack of that tight, squeaky feeling—it’s uncanny.
It’s a 12 oz bottle of fragrance-free, non-foaming lotion cleanser for about $4. The claim is “hydrating,” which usually means it’s just going to sit on my skin like a greasy film. This doesn’t.
The Pump
Actually dispenses a perfect, pea-sized amount—no more shooting product across the bathroom mirror.
The pH
It doesn’t strip. My face doesn’t feel like a drum after rinsing, which is the bare minimum but rarely achieved in this aisle.
The Size
12 ounces is huge. This will last you through the apocalypse and into the next one.

Nothing exotic here—it’s a “dupe” because it uses the same basic building blocks as CeraVe, minus the fancy patented ceramide blend. It’s basically a gentle, watery moisturizer that happens to cleanse. It’s not sexy, but my skin is calm.
- Glycerin: The workhorse. Draws water into the skin so you don’t feel tight.
- Ceramide NP: The one good ceramide they actually included for barrier support.
- Hydrolyzed Jojoba Esters: Adds a soft slip, not a greasy residue.
- Citric Acid: A tiny pH adjuster, not an exfoliant. Keeps things balanced.

It’s a gel-cream hybrid that feels like a thick, silky lotion. It doesn’t foam—if you need bubbles, walk away—but it melts into a milky emulsion that rinses off clean in 5 seconds. It leaves a “slippery” residue that dries down to nothing.
Two weeks in, I noticed my cheeks aren’t as flushed after my morning shower. The hot water + cleanser combo usually turns me red; this stopped that completely. I wasn’t expecting that.

My skin is less reactive and the “tight” feeling is gone. It didn’t clear my pores or solve world peace, but it washed my face without drama. It’s a reliable, boring, perfect basic—the kind of product you don’t realize you need until you’re washing your face with it at 11pm.

It’s not a 1:1 dupe—CeraVe has a better ceramide complex—but for dry, sensitive skin, this is arguably the better buy because it gets the job done without the price tag. I’m keeping it in rotation.
