Everyone’s slathering this on like it’s liquid gold, but I read the label so you don’t have to. Spoiler: it’s mostly fancy oil.
The “clean” halo is doing a lot of heavy lifting here — the first ingredient is just castor seed oil, which is basically what’s in your $6 lip balm.
Jones Road Beauty calls this a “balm” but it’s really a tinted moisturizer for your face that never dries down. $38 for 1.7 oz of “dewy skin” in a jar.
The Scent
Smells like a fancy grandma’s bathroom — powdery, old-school, not unpleasant.
The Pigment
Sheer enough that you’ll wonder if you applied anything at all.
The Finish
Glowy, not greasy — until hour 4 when your T-zone disagrees.

Castor oil is the star, which is fine — it’s occlusive, meaning it locks in whatever’s underneath. But there’s no serious skincare actives here. No peptides, no niacinamide, no actual skin benefits beyond “moisture.”

First dip: it’s like warm butter — slides on in 5 seconds, disappears into a sheer veil of “I woke up like this.” But it never sets. Hair sticks to it. Glasses slide down your nose.
By week two, I realized it’s best as a highlighter, not a face product. On cheekbones? Gorgeous. All over? You look like you just finished a hot yoga class — permanently.

My skin didn’t break out, but it didn’t glow either. It just looked… moist. The “miracle” is really just “my skin but slightly shinier and more even-toned.”

It’s a nice product with a dishonest label — “clean” doesn’t mean “does something.” But if you want that dewy cheekbone moment, it delivers.
