Everyone’s switching to ‘clean’ deodorant. But that word is basically meaningless.
The real test? The ingredient list after the marketing fluff. I checked Native‘s Sensitive line for you.
Native Sensitive Deodorant in Coconut & Vanilla. $14. They claim it’s “cleaner” and gentler for sensitive skin. The promise of no aluminum, no baking soda.
Aluminum-Free
Standard for the category, but they shout it loudest.
Baking Soda-Free
Their big sensitive skin sell — less irritation risk.
24-Hour Odor Protection
The bold claim every brand makes. We’ll see.

The hero is magnesium hydroxide. It’s their odor-fighter, a gentler alternative to baking soda. Then there’s tapioca starch — the sweat absorber.
- Magnesium Hydroxide: Fights odor, less alkaline than baking soda
- Tapioca Starch: Soaks up wetness, feels dry
- Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride: Coconut-derived emollient — it’s the ‘cream’
- Fragrance (Natural): The vanilla scent. ‘Natural’ is a giant loophole.

Texture is a thick, dry cream. Like cold butter. You have to warm it up on your skin — glides on matte, zero residue.
Week 2 update: The scent is faintly sweet, not cloying. But on a high-stress day? It tapped out by 4 PM. Not a shock for a natural formula.

Kept me fresh for a standard desk-bound day. A workout or big presentation required a re-apply. No irritation, which is a win for sensitive types.

It’s clean*er* than a drugstore aerosol, sure. But ‘clean’ is still a marketing halo. This is a gentle, effective deodorant — not an antiperspirant. Manage expectations.
