EcoGlow’s Lash Flash mascara is everywhere. The tube is bamboo, the font is leafy — it screams purity.
But ‘clean’ is a marketing free-for-all. No legal definition. So I read the tiny print.
A $28 ‘clean volume’ mascara. They claim it’s 100% free of ‘nasties’ and gives ‘ethical drama.’

Feels light, rolls off the vanity constantly.
Plant-Based Brush
The bristles are oddly sparse — like a half-bald toothbrush.
Water-Resistant
Their site says ‘sweat-proof.’ My eyes say otherwise.

The first five ingredients are standard mascara base. The ‘hero’ botanicals are at the very end — decoration, not function.
- Carnauba Wax: Standard hold, not special
- Jojoba Esters: A nice emollient
- Aloe Leaf Extract: Last on the list, basically confetti
- Phenoxyethanol: A synthetic preservative they don’t mention in the ‘free-of’ list

The formula is wet. Too wet. Applies clean, but you have to wait a full 60 seconds before blinking or it’s a mess.
By week two, it thickened up. Better separation, less smudging. The tube dries out faster than my ‘dirty’ mascaras, though.

It gives decent, feathery separation. Zero drama volume. Washes off with warm water — a true win.

It’s a fine, basic mascara in a bamboo costume. The greenwashing is stronger than the formula.
