Every brand is suddenly ‘clean’ now. L’Oréal Paris is the latest with their Voluminous Lash Paradise.
The real issue? There’s no legal definition for ‘clean’ beauty. It’s a marketing free-for-all.
It’s a $14.99 drugstore mascara. The claim? 24-hour volume that’s “clean” and “enriched with caring oils.”
Clean Formula
Marketed as free of parabens, sulfates SLS & SLES, and mineral oil.
Caring Oils
Contains castor and rose hip oil for “lash care.”
Big Brush
That fat, fuzzy wand promises insane volume.

It does avoid those specific chemicals. But ‘clean’ is a stretch. The formula is still packed with synthetic polymers and film-formers.
- Acrylates Copolymer: Plastic-based glue for hold
- Isobutane: Aerosol propellant
- Synthetic Beeswax: Petroleum-derived wax
- Castor Oil: The one legit ‘clean’ ingredient

Texture is thick — like black tar. Dries down fast. Zero smudging, I’ll give it that.
By week two, my lashes felt brittle. The ‘caring oils’ are lost in a polymer soup. It’s a chore to remove — requires serious oil cleansing.

Delivers insane, dramatic volume. Lashes look fake in the best way. But ‘lash care’? Didn’t see it.
It’s a great volumizing mascara hiding behind a ‘clean’ buzzword. Classic greenwashing — they avoided a few bad guys but didn’t reinvent the wheel.
