You know that 2 PM face grease slick. The one that makes your phone screen a mess.
This serum is why my compact powder now feels neglected.
It’s a 30ml serum from The Ordinary. Costs about seven bucks. They claim it regulates sebum. I was skeptical.
Niacinamide 10%
A high dose of the oil-control vitamin.
Zinc 1%
The mineral that calms everything down.
No Nonsense
It doesn’t promise to also cure wrinkles and bring world peace.
Two main players. Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) tells your pores to chill on oil production. Zinc PCA helps with inflammation — those under-the-skin bumps.
- Niacinamide: Slows sebum at the source
- Zinc PCA: Reduces redness and irritation
- Tamarinus Indica Seed Gum: Just a texture thing, honestly
- Aqua (Water): The base
Watery, slightly sticky. Absorbs in 10 seconds flat — leaves a faint, velvety finish.
The surprise? It didn’t magically stop oil day one. But by week two, my T-zone was quieter. Less “midday meltdown.”
Shine is delayed by 3-4 hours. Pores look slightly tighter. Did not cure my hormonal chin breakout — let’s be real.
It’s not a miracle, but it’s a brilliant, cheap workhorse. My oil slick has met its match.
