Okay, I slapped this on my face at 7 AM and then spent the next hour touching my cheek like a weirdo. It’s not a lie — that silky finish thing is real.
But “silky” is doing a lot of heavy lifting here. It’s more like a soft-focus powder veil that happens to be a sunscreen. My T-zone didn’t look like a glazed donut by noon, which is basically a miracle for my oily-ass skin.
It’s Beauty of Joseon‘s new one — the Ground Veil. $18 for 50ml. The claim that made me roll my eyes but also click “add to cart”: “sweat-proof, pore-blurring, weightless silk veil.”
Blurring Powders
Micro-powders that sit on top of your skin like a soft-focus filter — no glitter, no grey cast.
SPF 30 PA+++
Not the highest protection, but fine for desk-dwellers who see sun through office windows.
No White Cast
I’m medium-tan and it vanished into my skin in 15 seconds. No ghost face.

This is where it gets interesting. It’s not just chemical filters — there’s actual skincare in there pretending to be makeup. The texture is almost like a primer, but it’s doing more than blurring.
- Niacinamide: Calms redness and fades dark spots over time
- Rice Extract: The brand’s signature — brightens and evens texture
- Hyaluronic Acid: Keeps it from drying out your face like matte sunscreens do
- Green Tea: Anti-inflammatory — helps when you’re breaking out

It comes out like a silky cream, not a runny lotion. Rubs in like a dream — zero pilling, even over my moisturizer. My face felt like I’d dusted it with a high-end setting powder, but without that “I’m wearing a mask” tightness.
Week two: I wore it to the gym (I know, gross) and it survived a 45-minute sweat session. It didn’t slide off my nose or gather in my creases. I’m genuinely annoyed at how good it is.

My pores look smaller by the end of the day — not “dermabrasion” smaller, but “I don’t need to re-powder at 3 PM” smaller. My makeup sits better on top of it, too. But it’s not a mattifier — if you’re an oil slick, you’ll still need blotting papers by late afternoon.

It’s the first sunscreen I’ve used that I’d actually call “silky” without wanting to punch the marketing team. If you’ve been hunting for a no-makeup makeup look with SPF, this is it.
