Day 1 I had a cystic monster on my chin. Day 30? Just some tiny texture that barely counts.
I tracked every single breakout for a month to see if Caudalie‘s grape-based BHA could actually shrink my pores without that tight, flaky feeling most salicylic acid gives me. Spoiler: it didn’t strip me dry. That’s rare.
It’s a lightweight serum, $42 for 1 oz. The claim that got me: “pore-minimizing” without the classic BHA burn. They use grape-derived salicylic acid instead of the synthetic stuff.
Grape Water Base
Soothing instead of alcohol-y. Smells like a vineyard.
Zinc PCA
Controls oil without making you matte and dusty.
Organic Grape Seed Oil
Sounds heavy, but it’s non-comedogenic. Actually helped my barrier.

Don’t let the “natural” label fool you — this still works. The grape-derived salicylic acid is gentler but slower. You won’t wake up clear on day 2. But your skin won’t peel off either.
- Salicylic Acid (grape-derived): Exfoliates pores without the burn
- Zinc PCA: Regulates sebum production
- Grape Water: Anti-inflammatory base
- Niacinamide: Brightens leftover marks

Watery-gel. Absorbs in about 10 seconds — no sticky residue. I patted it on after cleansing, skipped moisturizer once by accident, and my skin didn’t freak out. That never happens with BHA.
Week 2 I almost quit. Saw zero difference. Week 3? Suddenly my nose pores looked… smaller. Not gone, but visibly tighter. The unexpected part: my forehead stopped being an oil slick by 3 PM.

Breakouts dropped by about 60%. Pores on my nose and cheeks look refined, not erased. My chin still gets a monthly hormonal zit, but it’s smaller and heals faster. Texture improved more than I expected.
This is the BHA for people who hate BHA. It works slowly but doesn’t wreck your skin. I’d repurchase for the texture improvement alone.
