Got the new bottle. Felt different on my face immediately.
The real issue? That signature slip is gone — it rinses too clean now, leaving a hint of tightness the old formula never did.
The drugstore staple. Still under $20. CeraVe says it’s the same gentle, non-foaming cleanser. It’s not.
New Texture
Thinner, more gel-like — less of that creamy lotion feel.
New Lather
Still non-foaming, but it spreads more like water.
New Finish
That “moisturized after cleansing” feeling is dialed way back.

They kept the big three ceramides and hyaluronic acid. But the base formula shifted — that’s where the magic (or mistake) happens.
- Ceramides 1, 3, 6-II: Still there to support skin barrier
- Hyaluronic Acid: For a surface hydration hit
- Glycerin: The main humectant, doing heavy lifting
- Polyglyceryl-4 Laurate/Sebacate: The new-ish emulsifier — likely the texture culprit

First pump: noticeably less viscous. Sinks into skin fast — almost too fast. You have to work quickly.
After two weeks: My combo skin felt balanced in summer, but come winter, my dry cheeks rebelled. It’s a seasonal player now.

Zero irritation. Makeup removal? Weaker. That post-cleanse comfort veil? Gone. It’s functional, not indulgent.
