I put sunscreen on my face every single morning, but I’m also lazy and cheap. So when Coola sent me these Sun Drops, I rolled my eyes. Another “serum” trying to justify a $54 price tag.
Then I shook the bottle, squeezed out 10 drops, and rubbed it in. It disappeared into my skin in about 15 seconds. No white cast. No sticky film. It just looked like I’d slept 8 hours and drank a gallon of water.
It’s a liquid SPF 30 that mixes with your moisturizer OR goes on bare skin. The claim that sold me: “a dewy finish that actually lasts through humidity.” I live in DC. Summer here is a wet blanket. I had to test it.
Dewy, Not Oily
The finish is glossy like glass, not greasy like fried food. There’s a difference.
Mixable Formula
Drops blend into any moisturizer without pilling. Even my thick ceramide cream played nice.
No White Cast
I’m medium-tan. It vanished completely. My pale friends confirmed the same.

This isn’t just zinc and hope. The base is aloe juice, so it feels like a skincare step, not a chemical shield. The hero here is the blend of antioxidants that actually calm redness — I noticed my post-sun flush faded way faster than usual.
- Plankton Extract: Boosts skin’s natural glow enzymes
- Cucumber: Cools and reduces puffiness
- Vitamin E: Neutralizes free radicals from sun exposure
- Hyaluronic Acid: Holds moisture so skin stays bouncy

First wear: felt like nothing. Literally. I forgot I had SPF on, which is either amazing or terrifying. It’s runny — like a thin face oil — so it absorbs fast, but you need to work quickly.
Week three in 93-degree heat: I expected a slick mess by noon. Instead, my makeup sat on top without sliding. The glow was still there at 5pm, but it had mellowed to “subtle highlight” instead of “just ran a 5K.”

My skin looked brighter by day 4. Pores? Same as before — this won’t fix texture. But the glow is real, and it’s the kind that makes people ask if you got a facial. The SPF protection held up during a beach day, but I reapplied like a responsible adult.

It’s the only SPF I’ve used that makes my skin look better at the end of the day than the start. That’s the whole review.
