Is Farmacy Honey Halo Reformulation Still Worth It?

So Farmacy quietly changed the ceramide blend in Honey Halo. If you’ve been slathering this on for years, you probably felt it before you read about it.

The old formula had a specific mix that made your skin feel like a glazed donut. The new one? Slightly thinner. Slightly less “hug your face.” It’s not bad—but it’s different, and that difference matters when you’re paying $46 for a jar.

It’s a thick, honey-scented cream that claims 72-hour hydration. I bought it because my winter skin was flaking like a croissant and I needed something that actually stayed put.

The hero is still the honey—it’s a humectant that pulls water into the skin. But the ceramide shift is the real story. The old version had a 3-ceramide blend that mimicked your skin’s natural lipids. The new one has fewer, and it shows in how quickly your skin drinks it up (fast) versus how long it stays plump (shorter).

• Squalane: Adds slip, makes it spread easy

It’s thick like frosting but melts on contact. Absorbs in about 15 seconds—no greasy residue, just a dewy sheen that makes you look like you slept 8 hours when you slept 5.

By week two, I noticed my cheeks weren’t peeling anymore. But the “plump” feeling faded by midday—something the old formula held onto until dinner. That’s the trade-off.
