I caved. Bought R.E.M. Beauty‘s Sweetener Concealer because every “under-eye smooth” girl swore it erased sleep deprivation. Spent 30 days trying to prove them right.
It didn’t. But the real story is weirder — this stuff actually works better on a post-gym face than a freshly primed one. Make it make sense.
$24 for 0.18 oz. The claim: “buildable medium-to-full coverage” that “melts into skin.” I bought shade 140N — and immediately regretted not going one darker.
The doe-foot applicator
Massive. Like a fluffy pillow for your under-eye. Too much product comes out every single time.
The finish
Satin with a weirdly dry texture. Not dewy. Not matte. Somewhere in between — like your skin after blotting.
The shade range
16 shades. Fine for fair-to-medium. Deeper skin tones get shafted — the undertones go ashy fast.

Hyaluronic acid for hydration — but not enough to stop creasing. Glycerin is the real MVP here, keeping it from cracking by hour 6. The rest is just silicone texture play.
- Hyaluronic Acid: Light hydration, won’t fix dry patches
- Glycerin: Holds moisture better than the HA
- Dimethicone: That blurry finish comes from this
- Titanium Dioxide: SPF-adjacent, not a sunscreen

First swipe: thick. Blends okay with a damp sponge, but fingers leave streaks. By hour 4, it settles into fine lines I didn’t know I had. By hour 8, it’s basically gone from my inner corners.
Week 2 revelation: using it without primer actually works better. Something about the silicone grip needs bare skin. Week 3: tried it on a zit. Surprise — it covers redness better than my under-eyes. That’s its real talent.

Dark circles? Still visible at hour 3. Redness? Gone in one tap. Texture stayed the same — which is fine if your skin’s already smooth, frustrating if it’s not.

Ariana’s concealer isn’t bad — it’s just not the miracle TikTok sold. For spot concealing on oily skin? Solid. For under-eye redemption? Keep looking.
