Two weeks. That’s what Skin1004 promises for visible spot fading. I called bullshit — then took before photos anyway.
Turns out, the real test isn’t if it fades spots (it does). It’s whether you can stand the sticky feeling long enough to get there. Spoiler: barely.
It’s a two-phase serum. $22. You shake it to mix the clear liquid with those little yellow capsules. The claim is “brightening in 2 weeks” — I needed that after a sun disaster last summer.
Shake-to-Activate
You have to shake it 10 seconds or the capsules just float there doing nothing.
Capsule Technology
Those tiny beads are niacinamide bombs — they pop on contact and release slowly.
No Fragrance, No Dye
Smells like nothing. Which is honestly the best thing I can say about a brightening serum.

Centella Asiatica extract is the base (calming, not brightening). The real heavy lifters are the niacinamide and a patented brightening complex. No vitamin C here — this is the gentler approach.
- Niacinamide (5%): Fades dark spots without peeling your face off
- Tranexamic Acid: Blocks pigment production at the source
- Centella Asiatica Extract: Keeps redness down so spots look less angry
- Betaine: Saves it from being a sticky disaster

It’s watery — almost too watery. Drips through your fingers if you’re not fast. Absorbs in about 30 seconds but leaves a slight film. Not tacky, just… present. I hated it day one. By day five I stopped noticing.
Week 2: The dark spot on my left cheek (from a pimple I attacked) is visibly lighter. Not gone. But lighter. The weird part? My overall skin looks brighter, not just the spots. That was a surprise.

Measurable fading on 2 out of 3 spots. The third one (old, 6 months) barely budged. New spots? Almost gone. Skin looks more even but not dramatically “glowy.”

It fades spots without burning your face off. That’s rare. But the texture is a compromise — worth it if you’re patient, annoying if you’re not.
