I was so over my $40 primer. It was fine. Not magic.
Then I tried this $8 tube from Wet n Wild and my foundation has never looked smoother. It’s a velvet mitt for your face.
The Wet n Wild Photo Focus Matte Face Primer. $7.99. Claims to create a “filter-like” finish. I was skeptical.
Oil-Free
Doesn’t add shine, just smoothness.
Lightweight
You forget you’re wearing it in 5 minutes.
Makeup Lock
My tinted moisturizer didn’t budge for 10 hours.

It’s silicone-based — dimethicone is the second ingredient. That’s the blurring agent. No fancy extracts or fragrance, which is a relief.
- Dimethicone: Fills lines and pores for that airbrush effect
- Cyclopentasiloxane: Helps it spread like a dream
- Silica: Soaks up excess oil
- Vitamin E: A basic antioxidant to keep it from feeling cheap

The texture is a whipped mousse. Not sticky, not greasy. It disappears with a soft, velvety drag.
After two weeks, I noticed it doesn’t play nice with every sunscreen. With a mineral one, it pilled. With chemical? Perfect.

My T-zone stayed matte. Pores on my cheeks looked filled in, not erased. It didn’t break me out, which is huge for a silicone primer.

This is a no-brainer for a flawless base. It’s not life-changing, but it’s stupidly good for the price.
