My Parisian friend shoved this in my hands last year. “Stop buying your skincare at Sephora,” she said. So I tried it. And yeah — she was right.
This toner has been around since 1954. No reformulation. No “new and improved” nonsense. Just 60 years of the same pink liquid that French women have been hoarding from their dermo-pharmacies. That kind of track record means something.
It’s a toner. But not the stripping kind. YON-KA Paris calls it a “lotion” — it’s meant to rebalance your skin after cleansing. $38 for 6.8 oz. The claim that got me: “restores pH without stripping.” I was skeptical.
The Pink Color
It’s naturally tinted from ingredients, not dye. Looks like Pepto-Bismol. Works better.
The Scent
Herbal. Like a very expensive spa that doesn’t play music. You either love it or you’re wrong.
The Application
Spray or pat. Do NOT wipe with a cotton pad — you’ll waste half the bottle.

Most toners are 90% water with a splash of witch hazel. This one has actual plant extracts in meaningful amounts. The hero is essential oils — which sounds scary, but they’re properly diluted for non-reactive skin.
- Lavender oil: calms redness and smells like Provence
- Thyme extract: antibacterial without drying
- Rosemary: stimulates microcirculation
- Cypress: tightens pores without alcohol

It’s watery. Dries in about 8 seconds. Leaves zero sticky residue — just skin that feels… ready. Like it just woke up.
Week 2: I noticed my moisturizer was absorbing faster. Week 3: my pores looked less like craters and more like… pores. What surprised me? It actually helped with the redness around my nose. Didn’t expect that from a toner.

Less redness. Smaller pores (not gone, just less dramatic). Skin feels bouncier. My makeup sits better. What didn’t change: my acne. This isn’t a zit-zapper.

It’s not sexy. It’s not trendy. It’s just a really good toner that’s been doing its job for 60 years. Sometimes the old stuff wins.
