I slapped this on at 8 AM, did the school run, sat through a four-hour meeting marathon, and didn’t check a mirror until lunch. My face looked like I’d just had a really good cry — but in a pretty, dewy way. Not a gross, oil-slick way.
That’s the whole ballgame here. If you have texture, this isn’t a tint — it’s a highlighter for your pores. But if your skin is decent, it’s the closest thing to a filter I’ve found in a bottle.
It’s $30 for 20ml. Yeah, that’s small. One pump covers my whole face, but it’s still a thimble of product. Rare Beauty claims it’s “skincare-powered” and gives you a “lit-from-within” glow. I call BS on the marketing, but the formula mostly delivers.
Squalane Base
It’s oil-free but not dry—the squalane makes it glide like a primer, not a lotion.
SPF 30 (Chemical)
It protects, but don’t rely on it alone. You won’t get a full shot glass worth of sunscreen on your face with this.
Sheer, Not Medium
One layer is a whisper. Two layers is a “I slept 6 hours” glow. It never builds to full coverage.

It’s got a bunch of plant extracts that sound fancy but do very little in a wash-off product. The real heroes are the humectants—they pull water into your skin so the glow is actually hydration, not shimmer dust.
- Squalane: Locks in moisture without clogging
- Sodium Hyaluronate: Plumps fine lines instantly
- Niacinamide: Calms redness over time
- Lotus Extract: Feels fancy, does nothing

It pours like a watery serum, not a cream. Absorbs in about 20 seconds, leaves a tacky finish that you *must* set with powder if you’re oily. I didn’t — and by hour 5, my T-zone looked like a glazed donut.
Week two surprise: It doesn’t break me out, which is rare for tinted moisturizers. But it also pills if you use a silicone primer underneath. Don’t. Just moisturizer, then this.

At 8 hours, it faded evenly—no patches, no weird oxidation. My redness peeked through by 2 PM, but my face never looked “tired.” It just looked like I wasn’t wearing makeup. That’s the point, right?

It’s a great product for a specific person — namely, someone with decent skin who wants to look alive, not painted. If that’s you, it’s a staple. If you need coverage, walk away.
